Episode 083 - Haunting of Borley Rectory, Maria, Furie, Aggression Scale

As mentioned on our last show, we decided to take a look at THE HAUNTING OF BORLEY RECTORY, a low budget horror movie which has proved very popular, hanging around the DVD Top 100 for the past 14 weeks! Is it any good? Tune in to find out!!
On top of that, we take a look at a couple of films revolving around Kickass Mums. First up is MARIA from the Philippines, followed by the Vietnamese epic, FURIE. Both of these films are available on NETFLIX and deserve a watch, in our opinion!
For our SHORT SHOT this week we take a look at a little-known director....Ridley...something...who has put together a short film sponsored by Turkish Air (see link below), and our DTV Throwback is THE AGGRESSION SCALE, a film which needs to be seen to be believed.

Episode 082 - Iron Sky2, Siberia, Replicas, The Division, Snowpiercer

This week Mike and Rich examine two films starring Keannu Reeves 0 SIBERIA and REPLICAS - warning, one of these is pretty batshit insane. Talking of which, Mike also takes a gander at the long-in-the-making IRON SKY 2 - THE COMING RACE, a film which conspiracy theorists will surely take to their hearts. On top of all this we also find time to catch up on our Throwback movie, SNOWPIERCER and in our Short Shot we rave about Jean-Paul Ly's THE DIVISION (see link below). Episode 081 - Bleeding Steel, Rendel, Dave Made a Maze

Hi everyone, we're finally back! Rich and I are finally getting ready to record episode 082 this evening, and I have FINALLY gotten round to editing our previous episode, this one, recorded way back in February!

Episode 080 - 5th Passenger, Dead Trigger, All the Devil's Men, Polar

This week Mike and Rich discuss a certain controversy surrounding Amazon Prime! before getting on with the main reviews, which this week are 5TH PASSENGER, starring actors from various incarnations of Star Trek, DEAD TRIGGER, based on a video game and starring Dolph Lundgren, ALL THE DEVIL'S MEN starring Mile (Son of Mel) Gibson and from the director of The Veteran, and we round off with one of NETFLIX's latest offerings, the Mads Mikkelsen starring POLAR. Our DTV throwback this week is INANIMATE, aka HARBINGER DOWN starring Lance Henriksen, and our Short short is the zombie movie, DEADZONE. Not only all that but we have a lot of trailers to look at in our Coming Soon section and we round off with the WASHING UP!

Episode 079 - Death Race 4, Backtrace, Escape Plan 2, Late Phases

It looks like Stallone is following Bruce Willis into the dark realms of DTV, and this week we cover two films in which he's given prominent billing when in fact he's taking a back seat for much of the running time. So this week, Mike and Rich take a belated look at ESCAPE PLAN 2 (available on Netflix), which also manages to rope in the likes of Dave Bautista and Titus Welliver, as well as BACKTRACE, in which a amnesiac Matthew Modine tries to remember where he hid the takings of a heist gone wrong. Not only that but we have the latest chapter in the Death Race franchise, DEATH RACE: BEYOND ANARCHY - starring a guy with a forgettable name and directed by Don Michael Paul, who has a good pedigree of delivering exciting DTV action. As a lead in to our review, Mike delivers a BEGINNERS GUIDE to the franchise to-date. We also review the Australian Alien Invasion movie OCCUPATION!  Our DTV THROWBACK this week is the werewolf movie LATE PHASES, which can be found on Amazon Prime, and we also take a look at the short film, BLUEPRINT.

Episode 078 - Leprechaun Returns - Nightshooters - The Domestics-The Convent

Happy Belated New Year, everyone!
 
After the Christmas DTV drought, Mike and Rich get stuck right in with a whole bunch of recently released films - the return of the iconic Leprechaun in LEPRECHAUN RETURNS, the awesome British marial arts/horror/thriller NIGHTSHOOTERS and the fantastic post apocalyptic action movie, THE DOMESTICS (available on Netflix). Not only but also - the ultimate homage to 80's action movies, COMMANDO NINJA (available on Youtube - see the link below!).  We also introduce a couple of new features, THE DTV THROWBACK in which we review Mike Mendez's THE CONVENT, and THE SHORT SHOT, where we look at EARTHY ENCOUNTERS. Episode 077 - Christmas Special! Mother Krampus, Mercy Christmas, Secret Santa

Merry Christmas Everyone!
For our final episode of 2018, Mike, Rich and returning guest Tom Jolliffe take a look at three Festive Horrors, MOTHER KRAMPUS, MERCY CHRISTMAS and SECRET SANTA. Will any of them be as entertaining as last year's ONCE UPON A TIME AT CHRISTMAS? Tune in to find out!

Episode 74 - The Lost Episode - Final Score, Vengeance, Attrition, Gansta

Hello everybody and welcome to our "lost" episode. We originally recorded the bulk of this shortly after the Fighting Spirit Film Festival, at the end of September but due to my moving house and Rich being on holiday, it took a long time to get round to editing and publishing the episode. So long in fact that we decided to add a fourth review, for the Belgian crime movie, GANGSTA, to go along with our already-in-the-bag reviews for FINAL SCORE, VENGEANCE and ATTRITION. We also run down our favourite films from the FIGHTING SPIRIT FILM FESTIVAL. Now for this episode we re-recorded the DTV CHART and I've decided to leave out the WASHING UP for this week - it will be back in the next episode.
