Mike and Rich embark on the 4 hour marathon which is the JUSTICE LEAGUE SNYDER CUT and are pretty impressed by the sights along the way! In keeping with the superhero theme, our Short Shot is a Batman fan film called DYING IS EASY. The company behind this short are called Bat In The Sun and we recommend you check out some of their other shorts!
To round things off, our DTV Throwback is a DTV sequel to Sam Raimi's Darkman. In DARKMAN 2: THE RETURN OF DURANT, Arnold Vosloo takes over from Liam Neeson. Cue melting faces and big explosions!

Mike, Rich and Steve check out THE VIRTUOSO, in which a professional assassin takes on the proverbial "one last job". Then we tune in to Amazon Prime for WITHOUT REMORSE, featuring Michael B Jordan for some Tom Clancy-inspired mayhem! Afterwards we try to figure out just who is THE NINTH PASSENGER, before rooting for fictional ex action star JACK WALKER to make a rousing come-back! Finally, we watch THE BIKE THIEF, hiding all sharp objects beforehand.
Our Short Shot is BATMAN: OTHER WORLDS, a very wry comparison between the different iterations of the Caped Crusader. We also talk about a similar themed short, BATMAN EVOLUTION, which we recommend you take a look at also!
Finally, in the DTV Throwback we check out ZULU on Amazon Prime. This is not the Michael Cain/Stanley Baker classic, rather a taut thriller set in Cape Town and stars Orlando Bloom and Forest Whitaker!

To mark our 150th episode, we bring you what is probably one of our longest yet - clocking in at just over two and a half hours!
This week Mike, Rich and Steve take a look NEMESIS, a London Gangster movie with a twist, in which Billy Murray stars as a self-exiled crime boss returning to London for some unfinished business. Then we take a look at ROSE: A LOVE STORY, a relationship drama with horror overtones.
Mike and Will then look at a pair of full-on horrors, starting with THE NIGHT, in which two Iranian ex-pats have a troublesome night in a hotel. Then we cover SHORTCUT, which feels like a John Hughes movie if he'd embarked on making horror films.
Our Short Shot is ESCAPE FROM NORTH KOREA, an 80's style parody very much in the style of Kung Fury and Cyborg: Deadly Machine - click the link to see the whole film!
For the DTV Throwback we are joined by DAVE WAIN and MATTY BUDREWICS from The Schlockpit and other endeavours (includiing some sterling work included on 88FILMS releases). They had chosen WOLVES OF WALL STREET which features a very game Eric Roberts and we talk at length about the career of director David Decoteau.

It's about time we were able to do an episode specifically focusing on the wonderful Michael Jai White, and two new releases finally gave us the opportunity to do so!
Joining Mike, Rich and Steve this week is special guest MATT POIRIER, a fellow podcaster and author from the USA. This week we start off with WELCOME TO SUDDEN DEATH, a remake/sequel (its no longer clear which!) where MJW battles mercenaries inside a basketball arena. Next up is TAKE BACK, in which MJW takes more of a back seat to allow his wife Gillian White take the limelight, and to say see makes the most of the opportunity is an understatement! Check out our review for more info!
Our Short Shot, 3 BULLETS, is a little older than usual but stars MJW and features the likes of Bokeem Woodbine and Run Yuan (who also directs).
Rob Yuan also turns up in our DTV Throwback, BLOOD AND BONE, which not only contaiins amazing choreography by Larnel Stovall but features Eamon Walker as one of the best bad guys, and the always watchable Julian Sands making Enter the Dragon references!

I was so excited about this action packed episode, I forgot to introduce the team! So, Mike Rich and Steve tackle a whole bunch of International action movies this week. We start with PHARAOH'S WAR - Mike Tyson and Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson (Kickboxer Retaliation, Game of Thrones) feature prominently on the DVD cover but do they feature much in the film iteslf? Take a listen to find out!
Next up is RUSSIAN RAID, heavily influenced by Gareth Evans' film (hence the name) but does it stand up on its own merits?
Off to France next, for SENTINELLE, starring Olga Kurylenko as a damages soldier seeking vengeance for a brutal attack on her sister. There a lot of negativity online about this film, but take a listen to see if we are in agreement! (Available on Netflix).
We then catch the, ahem, Eurostream train from London to Paris, which is promptly hijacked by Ruby Rose in SAS: RED NOTICE based on a novel by Andy McNab. This one promised a lot, but does it live up to expectations?
Our Short Shot is SOF Vs Sci Fi, in which a team of Spec Ops are pitted against zombies and a well-known alien hunter!
Finally, in our DTV Throwback we review Jean-Claude Van Damme's LEGIONNAIRE - soon to be re-released on Blu Ray and available on Prime.

Tuesday Mar 16, 2021
Tuesday Mar 16, 2021
In this episode Mike, RIch and Steve take a look at Christopher Smith's (Triangle) latest film, THE BANISHING - a supernatural tale set on the eve of World War 2. Christopher Smith's films are known for having a twist in their tails - is this one any different?
Next we have a look at THE COLUMNIST, a film from The Netherlands which has garnered a lot of buzz following its festival showings last year. Now we get to pass judgement!
Our final main review is BLOODY HELL, a horror comedy about the perils of travelling to....Finland? Take a listen! Also check out my interview with the film's screenwriter and editor, ROBERT BENJAMIN!
Our Short Shot is CONTAINER, an intriguing tale of time travel as a lone scientist tries to send himself back in time without affecting the rest of the world. Click the link to see the whole film!
Finally, in our DTV Throwback we take a look at CROSSWORLDS, which has a very interesting cast including Rutger Hauer, Jack Black and Josh Charles! As is usual, you can find this on Amazon Prime.

Wednesday Mar 10, 2021
In this episode Mike, Rich and Steve take a look at ASSAULT ON STATION 33, starring Sean Patrick Flannery, Michael Jai White and Mark Dacascos - will the film do its cast justice? Take a listen to find out!
Our Short Shot is ACERE, starring Jean Paul Ly. Acere apparently means "sharp" - you will see how apt the title is when you click on the link!
Finally in our DTV Throwback we revisit MAN OF TAI CHI - the directorial debut of Keanu Reeves, and starring Tiger Chen.

This week Mike, Rich and Steve look at a bumper pack of films, kicking off with FUKUSHIMA 50, a dramatisation of the Fukushima nuclear disaster. (the trailer in the link is horribly dubbed into American - the actual film is presented in Japanese with English subs). Then we take a look at THE STYLIST, a very stylish horror film with an iconic protagonist. You may also be interested in checking out this interview with the director, Jill Gevargizian.
Mike and Rich then delve into not one but two Hellraiser films, which have only just now been released in the UK - HELLRAISER: REVELATIONS (2011) and HELLRAISER: JUDGEMENT(2018). These are noteable for not having Doug Bradley in the role of Pinhead - but does that necessarily make them bad films? I actually have a big bone to pick with one of them - tune in to hear us discuss!
We also take a look at SHADOWLAND, a new low budget horror film set in the wilds of Scotland, co-starring Amela Eve from The Haunting of Bly Manor.
Our Short Shot is the very well-produced DECOMMISSIONED - contrast the zero gravity fx here to what Ron Howard put his cast through in Apollo 13! Click the link to watch the whole 6min film!
Finally, out DTV Throwback is BACK TO EVEN, in which an almost unrecogniseable Lorenzo Lamas runs into problems with a violent bookie who happens to be an old highschool buddy and played by Michael Pare. I couldn't find an actual trailer online for this, just the linked opening scene.

Thursday Feb 25, 2021
Thursday Feb 25, 2021
In this bumper episode Mike, Rich and Steve cover a whole half-dozen of new releases, starting with the Swedish thriller, RED DOT (available on Netflix) in which two campers are terrorised by someone with a sniper rifle.
Then we take a look at GATECRASH, a film with few characters but loads of tension! We welcome back former Doctor Who, Silvester McCoy in THE OWNERS, in which Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams wishes she had better taste in boyfriends. BROIL gives us a vampire dynasty story much more successfully than Vampires of New Orleans did. WHAT LIES BELOW involves a teenage girl discovering her mother's new boyfriend might not be who he appears to be and ARCHENEMY touches on ideas from Will Smith's Hancock but with its own flourishes.
Out Short Shot is SQUADRON, a Star Trek fan move from the Czech Republic - make sure you switch on the Closed Captions for the subs as the ones impriinted on the film are tiny! This is set in the midst of Deep Space 9's Dominion War and is well worth a look!
Finally, in our DTV Throwback we take a look at STEAL, starring Stephen Dorff, Natasha Henstridge and Bruce Payne.

In this action packed episode Mike, Rich, Steve and Will take a look at the Gerard Butler disaster movie, GREENLAND (available on Prime). Then we take a look at Indonesia's GUNDALA, the start of their very own shared comic book universe. Then we examine ABIGAIL HAUNTING, which definitely surprised us! Finally, I do a solo review of THE ODDS. (beware the trailer is a bit spoilery!)
Our Short Shot is the action-packed VICTORIA - click the link to watch the whole 20min film (definitely worth doing!).
For the DTV Throwback we check out Bram Stoker's SHADOWBUILDER (available on Amazon Prime) starring Michael Rooker as a gun-toting priest!
